Karma Police

The week of the 25th through 31st of July
Story Pin image

This week revolves around the ethics of Attention and Discernment, as Venus and Mars square off with each other, joined in the middle by the Sun and Jupiter, amplifying your reactions and heightening your values, encouraging you to observe what you focus your attention upon and when you react, are you coming from a place of reaction and judgement or discernment.

Squares and octiles are charged harmonics that prompt manifestation. The tension of an octile revolves around the concept that something feel internally unfinished and that provokes the necessity for refinement; whereas a square, another internal dialogue, has a strong tone to it, prompting a feeling of compulsion to find a way to figure ‘something’ out. This week’s astrology funnels those tensions into your relational field - be it with strangers, family, lovers or otherwise.

As I understand this quadraplicitym this week is a time for refining intention: noticing what deserves your care, what inspires meaningful action, and how your personal impulses can move in harmony with a wider sense of responsibility.

The ethics of attention begin with presence. What you repeatedly observe, encourage, and give your energy to becomes part of the world you help create. Discernment is the gentle art of recognising what feels aligned, what carries sincerity, and what allows you to participate with greater awareness. Rather than seeking certainty, you can cultivate a thoughtful relationship with your choices, allowing patience and curiosity to guide you.

The spirit behind Thom Yorke’s “Karma Police” can be felt here as a meditation on conscience, accountability, and the awareness that our actions and intentions have a place within a larger community. Its sentiment speaks to the importance of staying awake to how you treat another and to the subtle ways you contribute to the atmosphere surrounding you.

For me, attention is a form of care and discernment is a form of respect. When those qualities are brought into our conversations, decisions, and daily rhythms, more space is created for understanding, creativity, and shared growth, don’t you think?

Blessing

May you know the difference between what merely catches your eye and what is actually worth your care.

May the small daily gestures, the folded letter, the swept floor, the meal made with attention, carry as much weight in you as the grand declaration.

May your words, when they come quick and many, still find their way home to something true.

May you choose, today, one thing to lOve with your whole attention, and let the rest fall quiet around it.

And may the reaching in you and the settling in you learn, at last, to walk the same road together.
