Art by Rob Gonsalves
From depths of space, a basket is slowly woven, a tipping point of time where you are called to rediscover grace and humanity. Old structures groan under the compression of a collective tipping point, as a vision emerges from your dreams. It is gathering every scattered thread of our evolution and pulling it taut, waiting for us to wake up and meet the pressure of this dawn. We live in the bend of this arc, the atmosphere growing thick with the gravity of centuries, a crucible to test the soul. Can you feel the shift, as the Veil further lifts?
Written from a dream in which the psychic barriers that normally keep his thoughts private suddenly broke down, triggering a massive, overwhelming psychic flood where his thoughts, memories, and secrets were completely visible and accessible to everyone else through telepathy, “Here Comes the Flood” is a haunting meditation on the vulnerability of the soul. It is an appropriate song to outline the Uranus-Neptune sextile and the Cardinal Water conjunction of Mercury and the Sun, two collective transits that reflect the erosion of the waking mind, opening consciousness to a deeper matrix of non-linearity and acausality, the sluice gates of your heart opening to the free expression of your true feelings.
Just as the melody swells, the flood arrives as a great, cleansing wave of truth. For those who rely on masks and illusions, this absolute openness is terrifying, a chaotic stripping away of the ego. Yet, this crisis contains a sense of profound, spiritual necessity. To survive the rising waters, you must stop fighting the current and let go of the isolated islands of the Self, those who cut themselves off, unwilling to be honest with themselves or with anyone else, the ones least able to swim when it finally comes.
For me, this song is an opportunity for those emotionally dry, or indeed spiritually weary, to drink deeply from this deluge, running dry no longer, and I believe that Mr. Gabriel is suggesting that true connection can only be born when you are brave enough to let your world be washed away.
It is also a song that speaks to me of the astrology of this week - with Uranus sextiling Neptune on the 16th, with Mars conjoining Aldebaran on the 12th, with the Sun conjoining Mercury on the 13th and with the New Moon in Cardinal Water on the 14th.
I believe that Cardinal Water is the emotion that holds you as it carries you forward, and its riverine flow is akin to allowing your heart to openly express itself, without inhibition or poignant reflection. Yet these past weeks of Mercury’s retrogradation may have felt like the river running upstream, with your mind insisting on returning to something unresolved, some feeling not yet fully expressed, not yet fully released into the current!
The union with the Sun, which in effect is a seeding moment to plant a grain that will grow over the coming weeks, falls at the degree of Castor, a star that makes unmanifest that which is manifest, a theme I discuss in my New Moon article and video. This conjunction calls you to think from inside your feeling and to let what moves in you be the very instrument through which you see clearly, to dissolve the barriers that are preventing you from opening speaking from your heart, just as Mr. Gabriel’s dream of the psychic barriers eroding to allow the full contents of your inner world be accessible telepathically to others.
So ahead of the start of the new Light-Mind cycle, can I ask you to place your hands over your heart and feel the warmth of your own palm against your sternum. Let it remind you that you are, whatever else you are, a living being with feeling at your centre, and that feeling has somewhere to go. As you hold your hands over your heart, know that you are also holding a space to honour in full, any feeling, toward the world, toward another person, toward whatever in your life has been waiting for you to let go into the flow, is what you are being called to do on the 13th.
If you are in doubt about opening your heart up, let me ask you - what has your heart been carrying toward the world these weeks that your mind kept pulling back?
The kairos is ripe for you to open up and let flow!
I would like to leave you with the following reflection/ blessing:
May you feel the pull of what is true in you the way a river feels the pull of the sea, steady, patient, and completely without doubt.
May your words rise from that same knowing, warm and unheld, a flood that asks nothing of the islands it reaches, only that they let go and be received.
And may whoever receives them feel, the truth of what has passed between you
And may you drink deeply, and run dry no longer.
Beannachtaí agus grá mór, mo chairde
