Affirmation

The Week of the 4th of July through the 10th of July
Dimension of Time: Possibility of Multi-Dimensional Time

Is the present moment something you are, or something your awareness is currently within? When memory vividly and somatically arises, is that the past, or is that a frequency you are tuned to in this moment? When the future arrives, somehow already known, what is that knowing, and where does it ‘come from’?

Don’t fret, I’ve not taken plant or any other synthetic mind-altering substances. But I am sure, if you are honest, these questions have subliminally arisen for you, questions that will become more visceral as this calendar year unfolds. And whilst mystics have spoken about these topics for time immemorial, I recall something shifted in the quality of time itself as Neptune and Uranus met in Cardinal Earth 1993.

Aside from a series of personal time-bending, serendipitous experiences that altered my sense of ‘reality’ and subsequently brought astrology into my world, something in waters diffused our concept of ‘time’ as it broke its banks and spread both horizontally and vertically, allowing us to ‘see’ the multifaceted, highly subjective, polyphonic nature of time and space.

We’ve seen shifts and alterations in this timeline under each successive iteration out from that synod and now, in the middle of 2026, their waveforms are in waxing sextile to each other, as once again the question of reality suffuses into our awareness. Pluto lends her compelling voice to an existential conversation already ‘trippin’ the light fandango’, deepening it and asking something that linear time cannot yet answer. Can you feel it? Can you sense the convergence of timelines/ of multiple realities/ of sliding door moments? Can you feel the multiple frequencies of time within you? Do you know that time is not, and has never been linear? Can you feel that your mind is awakening to a reality less logical and linear than the one taught to you within the cloistered walls of the Victorian styled educational institutions you once frequented?

The clock and the calendar are conveniences of measurement, instruments that the mind gradually confused for the nature of reality itself. The felt sense of duration is something altogether other, something polyphonic and simultaneous, layered in ways that the sequential logic we were trained toward was never designed to hold. You carry within you, at every moment, multiple qualities of time operating at once, several temporal dimensions moving through you simultaneously, each modifying the expression of the others. You may be moving through profound exhaustion whilst simultaneously awakening to an entirely new dimension of meaning. You may be grieving the dissolution of a former self whilst sensing, in the same breath, the emergence of something more genuinely yours. One stratum of your psyche dissolving whilst another becomes more sharply individuated. The experience of any given moment is inherently multivariant, multifaceted, psychologically layered in ways that the straight line was never built to carry.

Julian Barbour has argued that time as we experience it is a construction of consciousness rather than a feature of the cosmos, that what we call the present is simply the most vivid point of a structure that exists in its entirety, past, present and future held simultaneously within what he termed the landscape of nows. Henri Bergson drew the distinction between clock-time and durée, that qualitative, irreducible experience of temporal reality that resists all measurement, that swells and contracts according to the interior weather of the one moving through it. And quantum physics, in its most honest formulations, has been pressing against this same understanding for over a century. In the quantum field, particles do not occupy fixed positions in time until they are observed. The act of observation collapses probability into actuality. Time, at the subatomic level, does not flow in one direction with any reliable consistency. Wheeler’s delayed choice experiments suggest that the present moment can appear to determine what happened in the past. Rovelli’s relational quantum mechanics proposes that time is a feature of the relationship between systems rather than an absolute backdrop against which events occur. The universe, at its most fundamental level, does not appear to experience time the way the clock insists it must.

Mystics of every tradition have taught that the eternal as a dimension in which all moments coexist, rather than a sequence without end. And the Irish language carries this wisdom in its very grammar. Tá brón orm. Sadness is upon me. The feeling is a wave moving through, and you are the field through which it passes. You are the sOul in the landscape, and the landscape is always moving. You do not own the feeling. You move through it, or it moves through you, and the distinction barely holds.

Astrology, in part, is built upon observations of differing orbital speeds and their harmonic interaction with each other, may have birthed our concept of time, but has rarely reflected time a the linear trajectory of an arrow in flight. Each planet carries its own quality and speed of time. Saturn’s time is geological in its patience, its demand for maturation and consolidation, its insistence that certain things ripen only through the long season and cannot be accelerated without loss. Uranus fractures sequence entirely, introduces the impossible adjacency of before and after, the sudden recognition that arrives without preparation, the future landing in the present as though it had always been waiting there. Neptune’s time is oceanic, dissolving the edges between moments, rendering porous what the sequential mind would keep separate, opening the interior toward a quality of duration that feels less like movement and more like immersion. Pluto’s time is subterranean, barely perceptible within the span of a single life, operating through the deep geological strata of the psyche, the ancestral, the collective, the evolutionary, the irreversible.

And you carry all of these simultaneously, as living wave forms in resonance with planetary wave forms of corresponding density, experiencing what can only be called a plurality of time, several dimensions of temporal reality moving through you at once, each modifying the expression of the others, none of them waiting for the sequential mind to catch up.

This is the texture of your actual experience, beneath the reductionist insistence that you are one thing at a time, moving in one direction. The lodestone of the modern mind insists on the single thread, the isolatable variable, the extracted moment. And yet the actual depth of your interior life has never obeyed that insistence. You have always known, even without the language for it, that you were living in multiple registers of time simultaneously, that the present moment was never the thin sliver the clock suggested but something far denser, far more layered, a convergence of frequencies rather than a point on a line.

Vonnegut intuited something of this in Billy Pilgrim, a man whose awareness keeps landing in different coordinates of his own life, for whom time is landscape and consciousness the thing that moves across it. We have tended to read this as the privilege of fiction. And yet what Vonnegut was articulating belongs to a far older understanding, one that the deepest traditions of wisdom have never abandoned, that the sequential experience of time is a particular tuning, a habit of consciousness, and that within it, beneath it, surrounding it, something altogether more simultaneous and spacious has always been present to awareness that has learned to soften its grip on the line.

Consider what it means to sit with another person, knowing that what you are meeting is not a fixed point in time but a convergence of frequencies, a living intersection of Saturn’s accumulated weight and Neptune’s unresolved longing and Uranus’ sudden electrical recognitions and Pluto’s slow subterranean transformations, all of it moving simultaneously through them as it moves through you. The argument you are having with your partner is never only about what it appears to be about. The distance you feel from your child is carrying frequencies from your own childhood that have never been fully metabolised. The colleague who provokes an inexplicable intensity in you is touching a stratum of your psyche that belongs to a time you may barely remember, or to a future version of yourself still pressing its way into being. Every relationship is a meeting of temporal fields, each carrying its own density, its own unresolved harmonics, its own not yet integrated wisdom.

This changes everything about how you might approach conflict, or distance, or the seemingly inexplicable. Rather than asking what is wrong with this person, or what is wrong with this moment, the deeper question becomes what frequencies are meeting here, and what within each field is still seeking resolution? The difficulty in your closest relationships is rarely located where it appears to be located. It is almost always older than that, and deeper, and asking something of you that the surface circumstance alone can never fully articulate.

And in the context of vocation, the implications are equally fascinating. It may be that your career feels hollow, your creative work may be losing its animating quality, or your professional identity sits slightly askew. Are they failures of ambition or discipline or are they evolutionary signals, outlining the fact that one stratum of Self has completed its particular movement through a certain quality of time and is now pressing toward something that the current structure can no longer contain?

Understanding that time plurality can help us navigate our relationships more consciously, after all each member of your tribe, your community, your familiar bonds are simultaneously inhabiting different temporal registers, different evolutionary velocities, different depths of psychological processing. You can experience a Uranian fracturing of the your professional life because you have veered along a path that is no longer authentic whilst at the same time be in a deep Saturnian reappraisal of your values, yet the binary and dualistic qualities of our conceptual understanding of reality do not account, or give permission, for these simultaneous contradictions.

And this is at the heart of the current geometry - the question of whether consciousness is merely an epiphenomenon of the brain, a shadow cast by biology, a story the neurons tell themselves, is itself a question this configuration refuses to leave undisturbed. The brain receives. The brain translates. Reality is the receiver’s relationship to the signal, and the signal is generated nowhere within the instrument that carries it. And if consciousness is the medium of translation rather than the source of experience, then what it is translating, through this convergence of Pluto, Neptune and Uranus, is the understanding that time is a field, that awareness moves across it, and that every moment of your life, the grieved, the luminous, the half-remembered, the not yet arrived, exists within that field simultaneously, available to the sOul that has grown spacious enough to hold more than one frequency at once.

And so I ask you, conscious that you may not conjure up an immediate answer, what would shift in your closest relationships if you understood that the person before you was not a fixed point in time but a convergence of every frequency they have ever moved through, and several they have not yet reached?

Furthermore, what would change in how you hold your own suffering if you understood it as a wave passing through a field rather than a definition of who you are? And what would it mean, in the quietest and most ordinary moments of your day, to inhabit the present as a convergence rather than a point, to feel the full plurality of what is actually moving through you, and to allow that plurality its dignity?

These are the questions this geometry is holding open. And consciousness, in the end, simply is. Time, within it, is always plural.

So I leave this missive with my hope for you this week

May you soften your grip upon the line, and find yourself, instead, within the field.

May the frequencies you carry, the ancient ones, the unborn ones, the ones still luminous with what has been, move through you as they will, and may you know yourself as the sOul they move through, and not the weight they leave behind.

May Saturn’s long patience ripen something in you that could only have come through the waiting. May Uranus bring you the recognition that arrives before its reason. May Neptune dissolve whatever is no longer truly yours. May Pluto turn the necessary liminality into the only ground from which the true life grows.

And may you come to know, in your body and in your breath, that time is not the current carrying you forward. You are the awareness moving through the light of all that is, all that was, all that is still becoming, simultaneously, and without end. And may you find your Way Back Home.
